Every invention has its time; electricity, the internet, and the mobile phone however, have arguably been the greatest inventions of our time.

Will Blockchain technology overshadow our greatest discoveries?

Every invention has its time; electricity, the internet, and the mobile phone however, have arguably been the greatest inventions of our time. Will Blockchain technology overshadow our greatest discoveries?

Blockchain is one of the most promising new technologies of the future, providing a new way to record, transfer and protect flows of data. Even more notable is its intrinsic transparency, safety, immutability, resistance to outages/error, and the fact that it is very auditable. Blockchain gives the power to individuals working together. The utility of this technology in rendering organizations more democratic, decentralized, efficient, and secure comprise the high-level narrative of the promise of this technology.

Our speakers for this session:

Dr. Jan Schröder from ImpactN
The ImpactN community-based ecosystem gives everybody the possibility to invest time, talent or money in SDG-related projects. This solution combines the social power of networks with the economic power of blockchain, following the idea of a purpose-driven economy. Jan Schröder, cofounder of ImpactN, will speak about practical examples illustrated on a platform, specifically addressing Millennials as co-creators of social impact. Jan will also demonstrate new forms of impact investment enabled through blockchain and token economics.

Adithya Pradeep from Procivis
Procivis’ mission is to empower citizens by providing trusted digital ID solutions built around safeguarding the sovereignty of personal data. As a result of its integrated e-Government platform eID+, Procivis is working with government bodies in country and abroad to implement secure and sustainable e-Government solutions that are aligned with its mission. Over 1 billion citizens around the world today have no form of legal identity, excluding them from access to the most basic public services. This has been recognized by the international development community as a major developmental challenge and is reflected in UN SDG target 16.9, which aims to provide legal identity to all citizens by 2030.  Adithya Pradeep, business development manager for emerging markets at Procivis, will highlight the role of digital identity in driving inclusion at scale.

Join us for a session focused on blockchain invention and innovation, as we explore together what is possibly the next biggest invention of our time!
